Atlanta, GA (March 30, 2012) NOVEC expands the use of PowerPlan’s integrated suite of Asset Accounting systems by adding the Property Tax module. With electric lines spanning over 6,000 miles, NOVEC required an integrated solution that would automate the entire property tax cycle from preparing returns and tracking assessments to paying bills and calculating accruals across the multiple districts their electric lines cross. PowerPlan Property Tax will automate the property tax returns process and optimize their payment process.
NOVEC is the 12th largest electric cooperative in the United States. They are a customer-owned and locally based distribution system that provides electricity to approximately 146,000 residents and businesses throughout Northern Virginia. NOVEC’s service territory encompasses 651 square miles with more than 6,649 miles of electric lines and 53 substations. For the past twelve years, NOVEC has had the best reliability record among utility companies in the metro Washington, D.C. area. In 2010, NOVEC had an average reliability of 99.99 percent – this translates to outage time of just over one hour per customer per year.
