TransCanada PipeLines Reimplements PowerPlan Asset Accounting & Tax Suite

Atlanta, GA (October 16, 2012) TransCanada PipeLines (TCPL) advances its use of the PowerPlan Asset Accounting and Tax suite while adding the Charge Repository and Budgeting solutions. Through using PowerPlan across its asset and tax departments, in addition to the the PowerPlan ERP Adapter for use with SAP, TCPL has achieved a greater level of integration and automation. With the cohesive system in place, they look forward to improving their business processes and operational efficiencies while lowering their total cost of ownership.

This segment owns, controls, and develops approximately 10,800 mega watts of power generation, including power sourced from natural gas, nuclear, coal, hydro, wind, and solar assets; and owns or controls approximately 130 Bcf of unregulated natural gas storage capacity. The company was formerly known as Trans-Canada Pipe Lines Limited and changed its name to TransCanada PipeLines Limited in April 1972. The company was incorporated in 1951 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada. TransCanada PipeLines Limited is a subsidiary of TransCanada Corporation.
