Former Ventyx and P2 Energy Solutions executive to foster ongoing customer success

Atlanta (June 25, 2015) PowerPlan, the leading provider of an integrated accounting, regulatory, tax and budgeting platform for asset-intensive businesses, today announced J. Charles Goodman has been appointed CEO of the company.

Goodman joins PowerPlan with more than 30 years of experience leading strategic technology initiatives within the energy industry. As CEO, he will be focused on improving the value customers receive from PowerPlan solutions, while increasing the company’s market share both domestically and internationally.

“Today, the opportunities are limitless for forward-thinking companies to expand profitability on a global scale through a strong employee culture and customer experience,” said Goodman. “The PowerPlan team has already made tremendous progress in these areas, and as a result we have many loyal customers among the top utilities, transportation and oil & gas companies. In my role as CEO of PowerPlan, I am committed to enhancing customer relationships and continuing to build industry-leading solutions. PowerPlan understands how to generate more revenue for businesses by mitigating compliance risk and supporting a culture of cost management. I look forward to leading this great team and building on PowerPlan’s success for years to come.”

Goodman began his career with Atmos Energy Corporation, one of the U.S.’s largest all-natural-gas distributors, where he served in a variety of roles during his 19-year tenure. Following Atmos, he joined Ventyx, a leading data and technology provider for the energy and utilities industries. As COO, he was instrumental in expanding operations into six continents. Prior to joining PowerPlan, Goodman was CEO of P2 Energy Solutions, a progressive enterprise data and software company serving the upstream oil & gas industry. There he executed multiple market strategies and led three acquisitions to expand the solution portfolio from the back office into operations.

“What’s exciting about joining PowerPlan is that we already have so many critical success factors in place, including a strong culture of collaboration, a unique value proposition and a loyal customer base,” said Goodman. “We are well positioned to take the next step forward, and I’m excited to be leading the team on this journey.”

Goodman holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.
