Atlanta, GA (April 30, 2012) Municipal Light & Power has expanded their use of the PowerPlan suite to include the CR module. By adding this module, Municipal Light & Power improves the flexibility of their allocations process while reducing the need for ERP software customizations. As a result, ML&P lowers its compliance risk and increases the efficiency of its accounting operations.
Municipal Light & Power provides electric service to more than 30,000 residential and commercial customers in a 19.9 square-mile area of the Municipality of Anchorage. ML&P also provides power to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and sells electricity for resale to other Railbelt utilities outside its service area. ML&P is regulated by the Regulatory Commission of Alaska. ML&P operates seven gas-fired turbines and one heat-recovery turbine at two thermal generation power plants and owns 53.33 percent of the Eklutna Hydroelectric Power Plant. ML&P also has a one-third working interest in the Beluga River gas field.
